Dropout Rate

At Risk Rate
Definition - A student is identified as at risk of dropping out of school based on state-defined criteria (§TEC 29.081. The percent of at-risk students is calculated as the sum of the students coded as at risk of dropping out of school, divided by the total number of students in membership

Advanced Course/Dual Enrollment Completion
Definition - This indicator is based on a count of students who complete and receive credit for at least one advanced course in grades 9-12. Advanced courses include dual enrollment courses. Dual enrollment courses are those for which a student gets both high school and college credit.

% of Students Taking AP Exams
Definition - This shows the percent of students in grades 11 and 12 taking at least one AP (Advanced Placement) or IB (International Baccalaureate’s) examination. Calculated as follows: number of 11th and 12th grade students taking at least one AP or IB examination divided by the number of non-special education 11th and 12th grade students.

% of AP Exams with a score of 3 or Higher
Definition - This shows the percent of scores at or above the criterion score (3 on AP or 4 on IB). The measure is calculated as follows: number of 11th and 12th graders with at least one score at or above criterion divided by the number of 11th and 12th graders with at least one AP or IB examination

Economically Disadvantaged
Definition - The percent of economically disadvantaged students is calculated as the sum of the students coded as eligible for free or reduced-price lunch or eligible for other public assistance, divided by the total number of students. This measure is updated on of the 1st day of each month during the regular school year.

College and Career Ready Graduates
Definition - The number of annual graduates who demonstrate preparedness for postsecondary success in one of three ways: meeting the TSI criteria in both ELA/reading and mathematics, completing and earning credit for at least two advanced/dual-credit courses in the current and prior school year, or enrolling in a coherent sequence of career and technical education (CTE) courses as part of a four-year plan of study to take two or more CTE courses for three or more credits

Limited English Proficiency
Definition - These are students identified as LEP by the Language Proficiency Assessment Committee (LPAC) according to criteria established in the Texas Administrative Code. Not all students identified as LEP receive bilingual or English as a second language instruction, although most do. This measure is updated on of the 1st day of each month during the regular school year.
